Cultural Policies for the Promotion of European Democratic Memory (October 4th to 6th, 2023)

The Ministry of the presidency, relations with the courts and Democratic Heritage, in collaboration with the ministry of culture and sport, organizes this International Conference to be carried out in the museum Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid from 4 to 6 october 2023.

The conference will focus on the importance of the memory of democracy in europe since the end of armed conflicts that afflicted the continent during the twentieth century, emphasizing its fundamental role to avoid the forgetfulness and prevent the recurrence of tragic events.

This event, which is celebrated in the context of the spanish presidency of the council of the european union, aims to highlight the essential european initiatives related to the management of cultural heritage from the perspective of the report, human rights and the commitment to the non-repetition "" as an ethical imperative in a democratic european society.
